One of the Spanish Canary Islands, Gran Canaria sits off the west coast Africa, less than a hundred miles from the Sahara so enjoys summer style sunshine all year round. Miles of golden-sand beaches (and famous Maspalomas sand dunes), scorching summer heat with beach weather all through the winter, dozens upon dozens of gay bars, restaurants, shops and clubs most situated side-by-side in two large commercial centers in Playa del Ingles & the mediterranean men are perhaps the main attractions here but the island has so much more to offer.

Spectacular mountain scenery with quaint mountain villages, pine forests and lakes to the center, rich Spanish culture throughout the larger towns in the north, one of the biggest cities in Spain also in the north & in the south all the general attractions and facilities of some of the largest and busiest holiday resorts in Europe.

The whole of Gran Canaria is "duty free" so whilst you shop till you drop in the south of the island, you'll be paying less than you would in the duty free at the airport. Las Palmas city in the north however offers some of the best shopping in Spain.
